This project was part of the construction of the Bombardier Global Manufacturing Center. This state-of-the-art facility provided a new home to the Global Manufacturing Center, previously located in nearby Downsview, ON.
Specific construction activities carried out by Metric include:
Airport security fencing: 1,000 m
Topsoil strip and remove offsite (~300mm): 170,000 m2
Excavation and remove offsite: 150,000 m3
Treat and remove contaminated material: 15,000 m3
Cast-in-place concrete water tanks x4 (by storage volume): 16,000 m3
Storm Sewer: 3,300 m
Sanitary Sewer: 1,700 m
Watermain: 2,900 m
Retaining Walls x3 (by length): 470 m
Excavation for Building Foundations x2 (by building area): 55,000 m2
Stone for Slab on Grade: 30,000 T
Paving: 110,000 m2
Landscape / Hardscape: 13,000 m2
Supply and installation 2.5mx2.5m Aircraft Loading Box Culvert including Manholes: 140 LM
