Reconstruction of Runway 12-30 (1500m in length, 30m in width) within a 6-week period.
Major components of the work included the following:
- 90,100 m3 of earth excavation
- Stripping and placement of 183,000 m2 of topsoil
- Supply and installation of 50,000 tonnes of granular ‘B’ subbase
- Supply and installation of 45,000 tonnes of granular ‘A’ subbase
- Paving 14,100 tonnes of asphalt
- Installation of runway lighting and runway instruments (PAPI, RITL)
- Installation of 2116m of storm drainage
- Supply and installation of 49 custom airport grade catch basins
