The 42-acre site consisted of an old driving range and farmland that was to be redeveloped into a 54,000 m2 Canada Post facility. The site was located across the street from a residential neighbourhood. Over 318,000 m3 of earth was moved on site, all of it being placed and compacted as engineered fill, with a further 83,000 m3 of topsoil being removed from site. Over 3.2 km of storm line was installed throughout the site, including three large stormwater treatment structures and six underground stormwater management facilities. Excavation for large spread footings, strip footings, elevator pits, exterior ramps and a grade beam was completed year-round, with dewatering and frost considerations implemented as required.
